ITRE Report on Hydrogen and the Role of Low Carbon Hydrogen in the Transition
April 16 @ 10:00 - 12:00
Registration Link
This webinar will open ERCST work stream on hydrogen which aims to bring together stakeholders, including policymakers and industry on a regular basis to discuss substantive issues around this topic, informed by original intellectual input from ERCST.
On 8 July 2020 the European Commission adopted its hydrogen strategy which originally was supposed to be part of the Energy System Integration Strategy and subsequently individualized due to the tremendous momentum hydrogen was gaining. The aim of the strategy is to create an enabling framework to scale up renewable hydrogen supply and demand in line with the EU climate neutrality objective, recognizing a role for low-carbon hydrogen in the short and medium term.
Almost 8 months later and before the adoption of the final resolution in Plenary, which will reflect Parliament non legislative opinion of the European Commission strategy, the leading Committee in the European Parliament, ITRE, has issued its report.
This meeting will dig into ITRE report with a special focus on the role of low carbon hydrogen in the transition towards a climate neutral Europe.
This meeting is under Chatham House Rules
