From New York to Santiago: Outcomes of the UN Climate Action summit and looking ahead to COP25
ERCST invites you to join our discussion on international climate change policy and ambition, focusing on the main takeaways from the SG Climate Summit, taking place on the 23 September 2019, and looking ahead to the upcoming COP 25 in Santiago, Chile.
This meeting will consist of three parts:
- Reflections on the SG Summit: possible implications for EU climate change policy and COP 25
- Looking ahead to COP 25: Priorities and work to be done
- Briefing on the status of negotiations on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement
The questions to be discussed include: What are the main outcomes and implications of the SG Climate Summit?; How might the outcomes of the SG Summit impact the ongoing discussions on a long-term climate strategy for the EU?; What can we expect from the EU and other Parties for COP 25 in December?; What are the expected outcomes for the upcoming COP?
