On December 13 the European institutions reached a provisional agreement in the CBAM trilogues. The transitional phase of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism will start in October 2023, with actual implementation starting from 2026. The final details were yet to be concluded at this stage.
 
This event, which is part of the ERCST CBAM Programme, discussed the agreement reached in December as well as what is next with Gerassimos Thomas, Director General at DG TAXUD as well as a roundtable which included:

• H. Lösch

The discussion also included the ERCST CBAM team (Andrei Marcu, Aaron Cosbey and Michael Mehling).
