ERCST is convening a stakeholder consultation to examine how the CBAM de minimis threshold (currently exempting importers of 50 tonnes or less of CBAM goods a year) should evolve as the mechanism’s scope expands. The session brings together policymakers, industry representatives, and independent experts to test several alternative threshold designs and discuss the trade-offs between administrative simplicity and emissions coverage. Input gathered will feed directly into ERCST’s forthcoming policy report on CBAM de minimis threshold design.
