This paper identifies elements that could impact the environmental integrity of international carbon markets under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Potential practical approaches to operationalise the concept of environmental integrity are presented and illustrated with experiences from pilot activities conducted by the World Bank and feedback from stakeholders in pilot countries.
