This report discusses potential ways to conduct impact assessments of sustainable development in mitigation mechanisms under the framework of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Analysing existing market mechanisms, the paper provides lessons learned and proposes pragmatic solutions to strike a balance between complexity and transaction costs of different approaches.
