The 22^nd Conference of the Parties (COP) was the first step in a longer process towards the implementation of the Paris Agreement. COP 23, held in Bonn is due to begin on November 6 and seeks to advance the aims and ambitions of the Agreement, which entered into force faster than anticipated. The negotiations will focus on the development of guidelines on the implementation of the Paris Agreement’s text, with the desire to complete guidelines at COP 24.
During this meeting, the discussion will focus on the main issues and possible outcomes of COP 23. The main issues include the architecture of the Facilitative Dialogue and the completion of the Paris COP agenda in time for COP 24 in 2018, with specific relevance to Article 6 and carbon markets.
