Understanding the sustainable fuels value chain is essential for reducing emissions and enhancing efficiency across multiple sectors within the European Union. This focus group aims to comprehensively map each stage of the value chain, identify policy challenges and regulatory bottlenecks, and explore strategies to optimize processes in alignment with EU sustainability goals.

By bringing together stakeholders from various parts of the value chain we will delve into critical policy-oriented topics. Discussions will center on the types of sustainable feedstocks and their impact on land use and food security, examining how legislative measures can balance fuel production with agricultural needs. We will address certification and traceability challenges across the value chain, emphasizing the development of functioning regulatory frameworks.

Furthermore, the focus group will explore infrastructure needs for the transport and storage of sustainable fuels, considering policy incentives and regulations that can facilitate infrastructure development.
