COP27 Side Event – Article 6: Understanding the current state of play and VCMs

This side event was organised in cooperation with Business Europe & Advocates for International Development.
This event took place at Tonino Lamborghini International Convention Center, Sharm El Sheikh. The event was broadcasted through the UNFCCC Youtube Channel.
Following the success at COP26, Art 6 rulebook has further progressed towards implementation, but some of the Art 6 elements and the role of VCMs require further clarification. This event took stock of the position of countries and requirements of the private sector regarding Article 6 and VCMs to enable understanding of the outstanding issues.
