This paper discusses the potential transformation of activities under the CDM to a new market mechanisms established by Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement. The paper considers elements of the negotiations that are controversial, how negotiations can address potential transition of CDM infrastructure and draws lessons for potential future transformation.
