Operationalising the Article 6.4 mechanism- options and implications of CDM activity transition and new activity registration

This paper outlines options for the design of the Article 6.4 mechanisms in terms of the possible transition of CDM activities and registration of new activities. Potential implications are identified for host Party approval of activities and to the use, review and revision of baseline methodologies and accreditation standards. Lastly, the paper looks at necessary steps in the registration process of new or transitioned activities and how coordination between different actors can support an effective transition.
