This paper provides an overview of the different processes related to the generation and transfer of carbon assets in post-2020 international climate markets, identifies key elements of the carbon asset development cycle and proposes a standard terminology across major independent standards. The paper aims to harmonize process flows and create a better understanding of governments concerning the process for engaging in international carbon markets.
