This paper is meant as a handbook for negotiators from East Africa to make important contributions to the Article 6 negotiations and the finalisation of the rulebook to represent their priorities and circumstances. It provides a summary of the history and status of current Article 6 negotiations and identifies and discusses issues that are relevant to Eastern African countries. Finally, negotiation strategies are discussed to support the positions of the Eastern African negotiators.
