This policy brief outlines the modalities and procedures for the operation of the ́Article 15 committee ́, which aims to facilitate implementation of and promote compliance with the provisions of the Agreement. The Article 15 Committee is expected to enhance the effective functioning of the Paris Agreement both by encouraging parties to implement the Agreement and by holding them accountable for aspects of their performance.

This paper gives a brief overview of the composition, competence and decision-making of the Committee as well as the issues which are to come before it, how the Committee can respond and the further steps which are still needed.
