The European Commission issued on 14 July 2021 a proposal for the review of the EU ETS. The proposal is designed to make the ETS able to deliver 61% GHG emissions reduction by 2030, in line with an at least overall 55% target.
This paper identifies and analyses the main elements of the EU Commission proposal and assess their impact on the EU Carbon Market.
