This paper intends to provide a general overview of the EU Green Deal State of Play and capture the evolutionary and transformational nature of the EGD, providing the reader an easy understanding of its past, present and future.
The paper will also briefly address the state of play of key integral parts of the EGD such as the EU-ETS, the introduction of a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the EU sustainable finance agenda and the development of an EU hydrogen economy.
