SUMMARY:Informal Dialogue on Response Measures
DESCRIPTION:The topic of response measures has been part of the UNFCCC discussion over the years\, with Article 4.8 of the Convention being seen as a basis for the addressing their impacts\, together with Articles 2.3 and 3.14 of the Kyoto Protocol.\nThis meeting is part of the “Informal Dialogue on Response Measures” project\, an independent initiative aimed at creating an informal dialogue where the participants can explore\, discover\, explain and understand different points of view related to the topic of response measures.\nDuring the first part of the meeting\, ERCST will give an update on the progress and next steps of the project “Reporting on the Impacts of Response Measures: a Case Study on Ghana”\, jointly implemented with the Environmental Protection Agency of Ghana. This stage of the project is focused on quantifying the impacts of international response measures.\nThe second part of the meeting will be an opportunity to take stock and gather impressions on the Fourth Meeting of the KCI (May–June 2021) and on the May–June 2021 Climate Change Conference – Sessions of the Subsidiary Bodies on Matters Relating to the Response Measures Forum. After hearing the initial reactions from the invited speakers\, ERCST will moderate a roundtable discussion with participants.\n  \nThis meeting is under Chatham House Rules \n \n \nWorkshop Material(s)\nAgenda\nUpdate on the Response Measures Ghana Case Study\nPresentation of Preliminary Study on the Economic Impact of the EU CBAM on Thailand\, India\, and Vietnam \n \n \nUpcoming Events\nA Vision for the future of EU Carbon Market Governance (COP31)November 9 @ 17:00 - 18:00Advancing Paris Agreement Implementation through Renewable Energy\, Nuclear Energy and Carbon Markets (COP31)November 12 @ 13:00 - 14:00IMO: Approaches to ship decarbonization (COP31)November 14 @ 16:00 - 16:45The State of the EU CBAM: What makes CBAM a success?
