SUMMARY:Launch of the 2021 State of the EU ETS Report
DESCRIPTION:  \nThis meeting will launch the 2021 State of the EU ETS Report\, produced by ERCST together with the Wegener Center on climate and global change\, Bloomberg New Energy Finance and EcoAct. During the meeting\, the authors will present the Report and their main conclusions\, followed by a high-level roundtable discussion on the future of the EU ETS. This will be the sixth annual addition on the State of the EU ETS Report. \nThe State of the EU ETS Report aims to be an independent contribution to the policy debate\, which is needed to ensure that the EU ETS is “fit for purpose.” This report discusses the current state of play in the EU ETS\, while also identifying a number of issues that will need to be monitored in the coming years. The Report is intended as a “snapshot”\, providing policymakers and stakeholders with an overview of how the EU ETS is doing by April of each year\, based on previous year data. \nThis report made possible through support from the German Ministry for Environment\, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety\, and the French Ministry for the Ecological Transition \n  \nWorkshop Material(s)\nFinal Agenda\nPresentation of the Report \nReport \n\n2021 State of the EU ETS Report (English version)\nRaport o Stanie ETS na 2021 po polsku (Polish version)\nInforme sobre el Estado del RCDE de la Unión Europea – 2021 (Spanish version)\n2021 Relazione sullo Stato dell’ ETS (Italian version)\n2021 Bericht zum Stand des EU-ETS (German version)\n\n\n\nUpcoming Events\nStakeholder Consultation: CBAM in an International ContextApril 22 @ 15:00 - 17:00Launch Event – 2026 ETS ReviewApril 23 @ 10:00 - 12:00Launch Event – Carbon Leakage under CBAM and Free AllocationMay 13 @ 10:30 - 12:302026 State of ETS – LaunchMay 20 @ 15:00 - 16:30International Townhall: CBAM in an International ContextJune 23 @ 14:30 - 16:30\n \n  \nPast Events\n2026 Review of EU ETS – Stakeholder meetingApril 1 @ 15:00 - 17:00Launch Event – Policy options for sustainable mobility: the road to decarbonizationApril 1 @ 10:00 - 12:00Quo Vadis ETS: Challenges and SolutionsMarch 23 @ 16:00 - 18:00

SUMMARY:State of the European Green Deal - from strategy to delivery
DESCRIPTION:This meeting is part of a continuous series organized by ERCST on the European Green Deal\, which started on 8 January 2020 right after the European Commission’s EGD was announced. This work stream aims to bring together policymakers and stakeholders on a regular basis to take stock on recent developments in the EGD framework. In June the European Commission is expected to roll out 12 policy proposals as part of its “Fit for 55 package”.\nThis session will specially look at: \n\nThe European Climate Law negotiations: The EU Institutions are still discussing key issues of the European Climate Law\, backbone of the EGD\, including the emission reduction target for 2030. During this meeting we will analyze the preliminary outcomes of the negotiations and how these can affect the EU long-term climate ambition.\nRecovery and Resilience Plans: Member States are working together with the Commission to align their plans with a 37 % binding target for climate expenditure. During this meeting we will address the issue of how Recovery and Resilience Plans are shaping up to deliver a sustainable transition.\n\nThis meeting is under Chatham House Rules \n \nWorkshop Material(s)\nWebinar agenda – State of European Green Deal \nState of the EGD Reflection Note\nPresentations:\nERCST presentation – EGD\n20210419 ERCST roundtable CAN Europe Recovery Funding 20 April 2021\nUpcoming Events\nStakeholder Consultation: CBAM in an International ContextApril 22 @ 15:00 - 17:00Launch Event – 2026 ETS ReviewApril 23 @ 10:00 - 12:00Launch Event – Carbon Leakage under CBAM and Free AllocationMay 13 @ 10:30 - 12:302026 State of ETS – LaunchMay 20 @ 15:00 - 16:30International Townhall: CBAM in an International ContextJune 23 @ 14:30 - 16:30\n\n \nPast Events\n2026 Review of EU ETS – Stakeholder meetingApril 1 @ 15:00 - 17:00Launch Event – Policy options for sustainable mobility: the road to decarbonizationApril 1 @ 10:00 - 12:00Quo Vadis ETS: Challenges and SolutionsMarch 23 @ 16:00 - 18:00
