SUMMARY:Accounting and Product Standards in Rome
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”” css_params=””] \nThis an invitation only event\, if you are interested in participating\, please contact: fcalvo@ercst.org.  \nAs the European Union advances its legislative agenda on industrial decarbonisation\, including revisions to the EU Climate Law\, the EU ETS\, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)\, and emerging initiatives to create markets for low-carbon products\, interest is growing in the role that carbon accounting and carbon intensity–based product standards could play within the EU policy framework. \nThis stakeholder consultation forms part of ERCST’s work on product standards. The associated research assesses how product standards could be integrated into existing EU instruments\, identifies legal\, political\, and institutional considerations\, and explores implications for international alignment and cooperation. \nThe Rome consultation will convene a selected group of policymakers\, industry representatives\, research institutions\, and other stakeholders for a focused discussion of the analytical findings. The objective of the session is to gather expert feedback\, build awareness among national stakeholders\, and refine policy recommendations to inform the final report and subsequent outreach activities. \nDraft Agenda[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Expert Consultation: State of the EU CBAM
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column conditional_render=”%5B%7B%22value_role%22%3A%22administrator%22%7D%5D” css_params=””][vc_column_text css=”” css_params=””]This event is online and by invitation only. For more information contact: msangiovanni@ercst.org\, hbevernage@ercst.org \nAs the EU CBAM moved from its transition phase into its definitive phase\, 2026 marks the first edition of the annual “State of the EU CBAM” Report. The Report aims to provide an independent contribution to the evolving policy debate\, supporting stakeholders in assessing whether the mechanism remains effective\, robust\, and fit to achieve its objectives. \nDesigned as a yearly snapshot of the CBAM’s development\, the Report will track key policy and market developments\, identify remaining gaps and potential loopholes\, establish indicators to assess the mechanism’s performance\, and explore a fundamental question: how should the success of the EU CBAM be measured? \nThis Expert Consultation will bring together a select group of stakeholders and experts to discuss the scope\, methodology\, and proposed key performance indicators for the first edition of the Report. The discussion will help ensure that the analysis reflects the most relevant challenges and priorities for the CBAM community. \nDraft Agenda[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
