SUMMARY:Stakeholder Consultation on the Optimization of CBAM De Minimis Thresholds
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”” css_params=””]This event is online and by invitation only. For more information contact: msangiovanni@ercst.org\, hbevernage@ercst.org \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nERCST is convening a stakeholder consultation to examine how the CBAM de minimis threshold (currently exempting importers of 50 tonnes or less of CBAM goods a year) should evolve as the mechanism’s scope expands. The session brings together policymakers\, industry representatives\, and independent experts to test several alternative threshold designs and discuss the trade-offs between administrative simplicity and emissions coverage. Input gathered will feed directly into ERCST’s forthcoming policy report on CBAM de minimis threshold design.  \nDraft Agenda \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Reaction to EU ETS Review Proposal
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column conditional_render=”%5B%7B%22value_role%22%3A%22administrator%22%7D%5D” css_params=””][vc_column_text css=”” css_params=””]This is an invitation-only event. If interested in participating\, please email: fcalvo@ercst.org \nThis consultation for stakeholders\, by invitation only\, is part of a broader ERCST project on the Review of the EU ETS which ERCST started in February and which will continue during the legislative process of the review of the EU ETS. \nThe first output of this project entitled “EU ETS Issues and levers” was issued in May and identified a broad list of issues raised by stakeholders and the different levers that each issue could be impacted by. \nThis event is intended to be a first reaction to the proposal on the Review of EU ETS that the European Commission is putting forward in mid July. Inputs and conclusions for this meeting will be included in the second paper Managing the EU ETS for decarbonization of the series of papers ERCST will publish on the 2026 review of EU ETS. \nDraft Agenda[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Launch Event: CBAM in an International Context
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”” css_params=””]This an online\, public event. For more information contact: msangiovanni@ercst.org\, hbevernage@ercst.org \nWith the EU CBAM now in its definitive phase\, this second report under the Border Carbon Adjustments in the EU – Phase VII workstream examines its international implications\, placing the mechanism within an evolving landscape of third-country responses\, emerging carbon pricing systems\, and growing discussions on interoperability and cooperation. \nThe report analyses how the EU framework interacts with international partners and the broader landscape it is helping to shape\, examines emerging responses\, and considers avenues for cooperation. It concludes with recommendations for the CBAM’s effective integration in this evolving context. \nFollowing a Stakeholder Consultation and International Townhall on this topic\, the ERCST will launch and present the paper at this event and open the floor for feedback. Discussion will focus on third-country responses to the CBAM\, WTO compatibility and the trade-and-environment debate\, and prospects for international cooperation and interoperability between carbon pricing systems. \nDraft Agenda \nRegister Online[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:A Vision for the Future of EU Carbon Market Governance
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”” css_params=””]This a public event\, for more information please contact: fcalvo@ercst.org \nThe event will discuss how EU carbon-market governance could be strengthened and explore the concept of a European Central Carbon Bank (ECCB) or European Carbon Management Agency (ECMA) as a possible future model. The objective is to consider how a more transparent\, predictable and accountable governance framework could support market stability\, investment and the credibility of EU climate policy. \nThe discussion will focus on: \n\nWhat the proposed EU ETS reform means for the future governance of the carbon market.\nHow an increasingly complex system – combining a declining cap\, the MSR\, removals\, international credits and investment support – can be managed coherently.\nWhether a European Central Carbon Bank (ECCB) or European Carbon Management Agency (ECMA) could provide an appropriate institutional framework for these new functions.\nHow stronger\, more transparent and accountable governance could support market stability\, investment and the EU’s climate objectives towards 2040 and climate neutrality.\n\nDraft Agenda \nRegister here[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
