SUMMARY:The Economic Impacts of an EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is intended as an occasion to present the results of the most recent assessments on the potential economic impacts of an EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Given the resurgence of discussions about BCAs on the EU political agenda\, it is the right time to have a closer look at the various available policy design options and their economic implications\, in order to better understand what type of BCA might work for the EU and what could be the expected economic outcomes of such a policy tool.\nThe webinar will start with an introduction to the topic by Andrei Marcu\, followed by the presentations of the studies by ERCST\, KPMG (Russian Federation)\, KOBiZE (Poland) and GMK Center (Ukraine). The session will then conclude with a roundtable discussion and Q&A with the participants.\n  \nRegistration Link \n \nWorkshop Material(s)\nAgenda\n\nPresentation from Matteo Caspani (ERCST)\nPresentation from Jakub Boratyński (KOBiZE CAKE)\nPresentation from Stanislav Zinchenko (GMK Center)\n \nUpcoming events\nLaunch Event – Carbon Leakage under CBAM and Free AllocationMay 13 @ 10:30 - 12:302026 State of ETS – LaunchMay 20 @ 15:00 - 16:30International Townhall: CBAM in an International ContextJune 23 @ 14:30 - 16:30\nPast events\nLaunch Event – 2026 ETS ReviewApril 23 @ 10:00 - 12:00Stakeholder Consultation: CBAM in an International ContextApril 22 @ 15:00 - 17:002026 Review of EU ETS – Stakeholder meetingApril 1 @ 15:00 - 17:00

SUMMARY:The role of the EU ETS funding mechanisms in delivering the European Green Deal
DESCRIPTION:This meeting is under Chatham House Rules  \nThe EU ETS ‘funding mechanisms’ are an important element of the fourth fase (2021-2030) of the EU ETS\, and will be a key financing tool to deliver upon the European Green Deal and updated 2030 climate targets. These funding mechanisms have been operationalised over the last few years – the Innovation Fund launched its first call for proposals in June 2020\, while the Modernisation Fund\, for which the Implementing Act was adopted on 2 July 2020\, is to be operationalised at Member State level.\nERCST and CEEP have together been working on this topic for the last few years\, organising workshops in Brussels and beneficiary Member States to facilitate a debate on how to successfully operationalise and utilise these funds\, and deepen the understanding of the regional financing needs and priorities. Several papers were published to update stakeholders on the implementation process and raise issues for discussion and clarification.\nDuring this meeting\, we will discuss the ‘state of play’ of the funding mechanisms and their operationalisation\, including how the beneficiary Member States intend to use the Modernisation Fund. It will also be an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss the role of the funds in delivering upon the enhanced 2030 climate targets\, and whether their current composition\, including the size\, is sufficient.\n  \nPlease register here. \n \nWorkshop Material(s)\nAgenda\nERCST-CEEP Presentation \n\n \nUpcoming Events\nLaunch Event – Carbon Leakage under CBAM and Free AllocationMay 13 @ 10:30 - 12:302026 State of ETS – LaunchMay 20 @ 15:00 - 16:30International Townhall: CBAM in an International ContextJune 23 @ 14:30 - 16:30\n\nPast Events\nLaunch Event – 2026 ETS ReviewApril 23 @ 10:00 - 12:00Stakeholder Consultation: CBAM in an International ContextApril 22 @ 15:00 - 17:002026 Review of EU ETS – Stakeholder meetingApril 1 @ 15:00 - 17:00

SUMMARY:Informal Forum on Implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement (8th webinar)
DESCRIPTION:This meeting is part of the “Implementation of market and non-market provisions in the Paris Agreement” project\, which aims to create an informal atmosphere\, where the main objective is to explore\, discover\, explain and understand different points of view related to the issues in Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. That is\, to understand the options available to define rules\, modalities and procedures on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement\, as well as the consequences of adopting each option.\nSince 2014\, ERCST has been hosting an ‘informal dialogue’ between negotiations\, informed by a few selected expert. Under the current circumstances\, the dialogue is currently being organised through regularly scheduled webinars.\nMore information on the topics to be discussed during this webinar will be communicated at a later stage.\n  \nThis is a closed meeting.  \n \nWorkshop Material(s)\nAgenda\nReflection Note\nPresentations\nPresentation by A.
