SUMMARY:From Katowice to New York: Impact of COP 24 on EU Climate Change Policy
DESCRIPTION:The 24th Conference of the Parties (COP) to the UNFCCC in Katowice focused on finalizing the Paris Agreement “rulebook” to operationalize the Paris Agreement itself. COP 24 resulted in decisions on nearly all of the mandated issues.\nERCST invites you to join our discussion on the outcomes and implications for the EU of COP24. The questions we will discuss include: \n\nHas the potential of the Paris Agreement been fulfilled?\nWhat impact does Katowice have on EU climate change policy?\nHow will COP 24 feed into ongoing EU discussions on long-term climate strategy to be submitted to the UN?\nWhat can we expect from the EU and other Parties for the UN Climate Summit in September 2019?\nHow do we prepare ourselves in the EU for that Summit throughout the year in a participatory manner?\n\nPlease find the agenda here\, you can register for this meeting via this link.\n \n\n\nRelated Events\n2026 State of ETS – LaunchMay 20 @ 15:00 - 16:30International Townhall: CBAM in an International ContextJune 23 @ 14:30 - 16:30\nLaunch Event – Carbon Leakage under CBAM and Free AllocationMay 13 @ 10:30 - 12:30Launch Event – 2026 ETS ReviewApril 23 @ 10:00 - 12:00Stakeholder Consultation: CBAM in an International ContextApril 22 @ 15:00 - 17:00 \n
