SUMMARY:Pre-COP 23 Briefing
DESCRIPTION:The 22nd Conference of the Parties (COP) was the first step in a longer process towards the implementation of the Paris Agreement. COP 23\, held in Bonn is due to begin on November 6 and seeks to advance the aims and ambitions of the Agreement\, which entered into force faster than anticipated. The negotiations will focus on the development of guidelines on the implementation of the Paris Agreement’s text\, with the desire to complete guidelines at COP 24.\nDuring this meeting\, the discussion will focus on the main issues and possible outcomes of COP 23. The main issues include the architecture of the Facilitative Dialogue and the completion of the Paris COP agenda in time for COP 24 in 2018\, with specific relevance to Article 6 and carbon markets.\n \nFiles\nFinal Agenda

SUMMARY:Managing a sustainable transition to a low-carbon economy
DESCRIPTION:This meeting\, organised by ERCST in Brussels\, aimed to bring together key stakeholders that are both affected by\, and involved in managing\,the negative social and economic impacts associated with the global transition towards a low-carbon society and economy. It was designed as a brainstorming session and will discuss the state of debate in Europe\, and identify possible gaps between the EU\, members state and international levels in the work to successfully manage the transition.\nThe first panel aimed to illustrate how social and economic impacts caused by transitions have been dealth with in the past and present\, and what we can learn from these examples and best practices. The second panel focused on the question to what extent the issue is being recognized and tackled by policy-makers and stakeholders\, and how progress can be made\, including in cooperation among different levels of policy-making.\n \nFiles\nFinal Agenda
