SUMMARY:EU ETS Phase 4 - the final stretch
DESCRIPTION:The EU ETS Phase 4 discussion is nearing the end\, yet there are still significant differences in position between the various negotiating parties in the trilogue\, and between members of the broader community of stakeholders. \n\n\n\nThis meeting focused on two aspects of the Phase 4 discussion: how do we address the large over-supply of allowances currently in the market and how will carbon leakage protection evolve up to 2030. It is hoped that this meeting will help catalyze a solution that will provide a good balance between these two elements\, and ensure that the EU ETS remains a central element of the EU climate policy.\n\nFiles\nFinal Agenda

SUMMARY:Informal Forum on Implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement under the UNFCCC process
DESCRIPTION:Article 6 of the Paris Agreement (PA) is often referred to as the “markets article”\, but it is more than that. Indeed\, it offers a framework for international cooperation between Parties to meet the goals and objectives of the PA.\nUnderstanding of the elements needed to operationalize Article 6 of the Paris Agreement (PA) has evolved since COP 21 through formal and informal discussions\, through workshops as part of the UNFCCC process\, and through Party submissions to SBSTA.\nThis meeting is part of the project “Implementation of markets and non-markets provisions in the Paris Agreement” project\, which aims to create an informal atmosphere\, where the main objective is to explore\, discover\, explain and understand different points of view related to the issues in Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. That is\, to understand the options available to define rules\, modalities and procedures on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement\, as well as the consequences of adopting each option.\nThe discussions are free and informal\, and will be held under Chatham House rule. This process is totally separate from the UNFCCC negotiating process. There is no intention or mandate to produce any text or negotiate an outcome.\n \nFiles\nFinal Agenda
